GreenGro

Next Generation Growing Systems

GreenGro develops smart and environmentally sustainable “next generation” growing systems for production and optimisation of controlled environment vertical farming and horticulture.

The GreenGro system has been developed for consistent low-input high-quality production of high-value photosynthetic organisms (e.g. plants, algae) or other organisms (e.g. insects, fungi etc)

The GreenGro platform was developed by research funding from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to develop a next generation modular energy generating greenhouse (NG- MEGG) system that dramatically reduces energy and other inputs (e.g. water), while ensuring high quality growth supported by a smart IoT enabled sensor network and associated end-user dashboards.

This project has been funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland under the SEAI Research, Development & Demonstration Funding Programme 2018, Grant number 18/RDD/330
